Green World is an ecological farm in Beipu Township of Hsinchu County. It features over 70 hectares of open area, petting zoos, a reptile center, butterfly area, bird park, swan lake, and features animal shows. It is the largest and most diverse tropical rainforest ecological area in Asia and is definitely worth a trip.
Background: Green World Ecological Farm was established in 2004 and covers roughly 75 hectares of land, making it the largest and most diverse tropical rainforest ecological area in Asia. Over 50 hectares of land have been left as a nature preserve. The park features six main areas: swan lake, butterfly ecological park, discovery land area, bird ecological park, water plants park, and biodiversity adventure area. You have to drive down a mountain road to get there. Parking is paid, even if you park on the side of the road. We brought our kids, and they loved it even more than we did. There was a lot of walking, but overall it was fun and there are a lot of animals to see here.

If the two main parking lots get full, there are still parking spaces on the side of the road here, but you still have to pay. And you have to walk down a giant hill.

At the entrance you have this large grassy area next to Swan Lake.
There are also some food shops and places to sit down and eat.

Moving further into the park there is an even larger grassy area with palm trees.
The buildings in Green World are made with green materials and A/C is not used in most places.

We were allowed to follow them and take pictures of them, but touching the Alpacas was prohibited.
Though sometimes it could be hard not to touch them...

Also in this area there was a Stork show. The storks danced and put on a show for us, and people in the audience fed them fish and pellets.

Then we visited another outdoor area with a super high boardwalk, called the Forest Skywalk 森林天空步道.

Next we moved on to the butterfly house.
There were not any butterflies to see really except the ones you could spot outside.
Basically you spot them on this trail.

Next is the "cute animal area" where chickens, gerbels, rabbits, and tourties live in harmony.

Then we visited the cactus house.

And that was pretty much it. We ended up back in the parking lot. As you can see it is pretty small.
I think this is a shuttle bus to another parking lot farther away.
