Taipei City Mall, also known as Taipei Underground Street, Miki Plaza, Y District Underground Mall, Y區地下街, or Taipei Main Underground Shopping Street 台北地下街 英文介紹, is the largest underground shopping area in Taiwan roughly between and around the underground red line Zhongshan MRT, Airport MRT, and Taipei Main Station. It is like four shopping malls in one. Here one can purchase clothing, toys, electronics, handicrafts, and more. Its location underground between underground public transportation rail lines makes it a convenient and popular place for shoppers. In this blog, we will share our experience including a detailed map of the area.

Other underground shopping locations in Taipei: Longshan Temple (Zone L) Ximending (Zone X) East District (Zone E) Xingtian Temple Underground Fortune Telling Street Our Journey: I have been to underground many times to buy stuff. It is one of the most convenient shopping areas in Taiwan because everything is underground right in front of the underground MRT station and train station. You can't not pass by if you are getting on the MRT in this area.
If you want to start from the very beginning, a good place to start off is in front of the Taipei Bus Station R1 Entrance/Exit here which is in between R and Y zones.
However there are about 50 other entrances that lead to the underground.
There are entrances to the Y zone underground mall all around following the MRT red line.
There are escalators and some elevators that take you to the underground.
The underground mall area is huge. Just look at these maps. It takes over six city blocks.
Mister Donut is a popular doughnut store in Taiwan and it was our first stop.
The Y zone underground is also known as Miki Plaza.
If you visit too early in the morning, most of the shops will be closed. Therefore you should go in the afternoon or evening.
In the morning most shops will not open right at 11. Most of the shops will open later.

A beautiful map of Taipei, but wait, where is Nangang? Didn't the artist know that Nangang is part of Taipei? And why is there a huge swath of Zhonghe and Sanchong in there?
Plush toy store.
If you go above ground here, you will notice there is a ground level park along the entire underground known as Xinzhongshan Linear Park.
More clothing shops. The underground gets more spacious here and there are benches.
Hat and accessory shop.
Toy shop.
Drink shop.
Along Xinzhongshan Linear Park there is also a vegetable morning wet market that is open along the sidewalk here.
Besides vegetables, they also sell treats, gardening supplies, clothes, and other every day items.
There are also areas of the park like this that have big open courtyards.
The mall connects up with Zhongshan MRT station.
The mall ends here at Shuanglian MRT Station.
You can see more photos of the mall above.
